ULYSSES CASTELLANOS: “The central aim of my art practice is to demystify established cultural constructs by involving the viewer in the humorous debunking of idealized images, concepts and paradigms. I collect images from films, television programs, literature and popular music and transpose these images within a performance art setting, or distill them into installations wherein these components are manipulated, juxtaposed, contrasted and collided against each other, thereby eliciting a shift in perception and understanding. READ MORE.”

GABY CEPEDA is a 26 year old Mexican artist/photographer/curator who works in Buenos Aires.

EN MASSE (Montreal): “Under the direction of Jason Botkin and Rupert Bottenberg, and Fred Caron, EN MASSE is an ongoing series of artistic conversations of a sort, a non-linear dialog connecting many artists through the creation of large-scale collaborative black and white murals. The shape and character of each specific EN MASSE event is defined by those creators who take part in the project, and the energies they individually and collectively bring to the mix. READ MORE.”

ADAM HARMS (Los Angeles) is an artist, web designer & curator who is the co-founder of Tight Artists.

ROLLIN LEONARD (USA 1984) earned a BA in Philosophy and a BA in Painting from the University of Minnesota in 2007. He has shown large-scale video installations, paintings, photographic prints, and web-based work since 2004. His medium varies but his conceptual approach is consistent — projecting the logic, meaning, or pattern from one domain into another, often using the human body as a vehicle to do so. His work has been shown at The Photographer’s Gallery in London, Fach & Asendorf Gallery (Internet, Stuttgart, Kassel), various international shows, and at the 2012 NOVA Festival in Sao Paolo.

BRIANNA MCCARTHY is a mixed media artist who lives and works in Trinidad and Tobago. Her work takes on the intricacies and dynamics of representing Afro-Caribbean women who are portrayed as being strong, long-suffering, exoticised and picturesque beings against a backdrop of poverty, hardship, abuse and/or scorn. McCarthy’s constructions and representations revolt against and subvert the stereotypical trends of representing the black body. READ MORE.

KIRSTEN MCCREA is a Canadian artist with a penchant for pop culture, politics, & patterns.

Canadian artist LORNA MILLS has actively exhibited her work in both solo and group exhibitions since the early 1990’s, both in Canada and Internationally. Her practice has included obsessive Ilfochrome printing, obsessive painting, obsessive super 8 film & video, and obsessive animated GIFs incorporated into restrained installation work.

RUSIKO: “Working out of the dark and tatter-walled studio in a hazy-eyed fevered dream I am the incarnation of chaos. Inspired by sin and divinity I am artist, a messenger and a harbinger of madness. I dream and create, dream and create, research and create. READ MORE.”

SMACK OF THE HAND is a nail art project by Brittany Bennington, who has been a regular presence at Sheroes events with her thematic nail art bar.
